Levi Lusko is a husband, a father and pastor to Fresh Life Church in Montana. I had the privilege of hearing about him through some friends of mine and I finally got around to reading one of his books.

Right off the bat, I want to praise the literal writing of this book. I was blown away at Lusko’s ability to make me feel his passion through his precise articulation, wide ranged adjectives and flawlessly delivered metaphors. He brilliantly painted visuals in my mind that I will not soon forget.

This has been the fastest I have finished a book in quite awhile. Every word left me craving more and the entire time I was reading, I couldn’t wait to write down my thoughts for it. Now that I’ve finished, however, I’m sitting here at a loss for words. Granted, I gave myself little time to soak everything in and the best I can do is share with you the things that resonated in my heart. Lusko is a father to four beautiful girls, one of which, Lenya, left to heaven at the age of five. Lusko all but broke my soul in the way he beautifully and vulnerably shared his story about dealing with the death of his daughter. I’m not a mother and I certainly can’t even begin to fathom the suffering that comes with losing a child but reading his story brought me to tears. While the loss of a child would be enough to break anyone, Lusko and his wife, Jennie, had built such a firm foundation in their faith, that they were able to take their pain and touch the lives of other hurting people. Everything about their story left me in awe and I can’t not recommend this book enough. I will forever remember these points:

· Perspective is everything,

o Learn to see through faith, the naked eye is so, so limited

· You have a purpose

o Run at it

o Let yourself overflow with passion

o Let it consume you, loud and proud

· You will struggle

o So drink before you’re thirsty

o Constantly be feeding your soul so that when the wave hits, you have a steady rock to stand on

· God doesn’t put you through anything you can’t handle

o This goes with perspective, in the midst of agony, it’s hard to see the big picture but time has a funny way of allowing us to broaden our sight

o Experiences help make us more empathetic, which allows us to love better

· Carpe Diem- Seize the Day

o Too often it’s too late before we realize how short this life really is

Run towards the roar. Embrace what scares you, it’s where you’ll grow the most.

My words don’t do this book enough justice, if you have the chance, please read it. Your outlook on life will change for the better.
