I was definitely not expecting this to be the first coffee post but here it is! First, I’ll explain the “rules” that I’m sticking to for each new coffee place. I’ll give every coffee shop at least two tries before writing about it, for a few different reasons. The first being that if you go just once, you could end up going on a super busy day or maybe catch the barista at the end of their very long shift. The second, because as much as I like my black coffee, I’m well aware that some places are known for their creative drinks. So, once when I go I’ll order an Americano and the second time I’ll either get a suggestion from the barista, their most popular drink or a chai tea latte.

The reason I didn’t expect this to be first is because the one closest to me is a stand, and I just went on and on in my previous post about coffee shops being the place where I get work done. However, it was one of the first suggestions I got and we all have those days where we’re on the run so I figured why not check it off the list first? The one I’ve visited twice now, is in Kirkland. If you attend The City Church or the Costco of your preference is in Kirkland, know that this Mercurys is on that same street (sorry I suck at directions, that’s as detailed as I can get). Anyway, the first time I went was the coolest experience because it just so happened to be free extra shot day! I was definitely in the mood for caffeine but I wasn’t feeling dark so I went with a chai tea latte with two shots. I explained to the barista at the window that it was my first time and she didn’t hesitate to sign me up to their reward program. She then handed me what I expected to be a punch card but instead was a legit (plastic?) card. I know that’s a weird thing to get excited about but I’m the worst with misplacing the paper punch cards or throwing them away by mistake. She also informed me that I get a free drink on my birthday and honestly who doesn’t want that? I got the vibe from their menu that they’re better known for their creative drinks because there was so many! So the second time I went, I took my brother and I got a blended Blonde Hawaiian, which was amazing! It has white chocolate, macadamia nut and coconut. The combination sounded delicious but I was a bit worried because while I don’t mind coconut, I’m also not the biggest fan. The drink did not disappoint though, the coconut wasn’t overwhelming at all and it was a sweet, creamy drink for the gorgeous day that it was. My brother got a blended strawberries and crème which was also delicious and tasted like a strawberry milkshake. I really enjoy the location of this stand too because for me, it’s on the way to the waterfront and I love to walk around and enjoy the view on summer days and since it’s such a short drive, I can definitely see myself stopping by often! While I didn’t try any of their food options, I should mention that they did seem to have a wide variety! They had breakfast sandwiches, different types of oatmeal, cookies and grilled sandwiches. They also had baked goods like muffins and scones of course. Here are some other fun facts I thought would be good to share:
